2026 RRP x PHOENIX RCC RMX-97
This car is the first collaboration project between myself under the Phoenix RCC unbrella and Ruben at Rubrix Racing Products, aka RRP.
Inspired by the legendary Masaaki Hirosaka-san, the RMX-97 represents a high-tech fusion of two iconic platforms: the 1997 World Champion MX-4 Prototype and the 2001 mid-motor YMP-013. The original YMP-013 was developed to support the production Yokomo MX-4 and featured front and rear plastic bulkheads. Materials that presented certain reliability challenges.
With the RMX-97, we have successfully adapted this conversion to the RRP RX4E kit. This model retains the optimal mid-motor position of the YMP-013 while reintroducing the beautifully crafted alloy front and rear bulkheads from the 1997 world championship-winning car.
Drawing on my Formula 1 engineering experience, I have integrated the best elements of both platforms into the RMX-97. Notable innovations include a three-part top deck for improved maintenance and accessibility. The car is also equipped with RRP’s latest high-performance hop-up options from the RX4E and RMX lines, including:
- High-quality carbon fibre chassis, top deck and shock towers
- CNC machined aluminum front and rear bulkheads
- CNC machined front and rear hubs
- xForze RX4E High-Performance gold CVD
- V4 center slipper
- Rear sway bar
- Big bore shocks
This demonstrator car sports a rare Azarashi body shell painted by Pedro @ PJDesign.
