1997 YOKOMO MX-4 COMMERCIAL PROTOTYPE

After Masami’s 1997 4WD world title, Masaaki Hirosaka built a commercial prototype of the car for Yokomo.

The prototype was a hybrid of the world’s winning car and the future commercial product. It featured the iconic 2+4 battery layout and the rear end of the world’s car. The front end was very close to the final commercial product with the plastic bulkheads and flat chassis replacing the machined parts and kick-up chassis.

This is the very vehicle made by Masaaki and tested by Masami to fine tune the design of the final production car.

Fitted with a world’s replica body prepared by Masaaki too.
