1988 TAG JET / ROBBE GERONIMO

Another Italian born model distributed by Mantua in the 80s. Built from a new in box kit, this was actually a pretty enjoyable build. The car is very much inspired by the Schumacher CAT with a similar belt driven system (2 short belts at the rear and 1 long belt towards the front). Some very nice parts like the gold anodised chassis. The shocks are also pretty good and super smooth. The gear diffs are simple and clever but probably not the best on track. Suspension arms are actually the same as the Coyote.

The body is at best fuggly IMHO. Especially if you go for box art… The dome canopy made me think of a lunar vehicle so I went along this theme with a chrome paint and NASA custom vinyls. The JET has landed!
